Trials Bikes

Info

The trials bikes section have a variety of bikes to suit all sizes and abilities and you can have a go on each machine to find out which one best suits you. Learn the controls, basic riding skills and then progress on to more difficult 'kick start' style obstacles, until you have amazed the section leaders and yourself at your skill and bravery.

But don't worry as we won't ask you to try anything you are not happy with (honestly!). This section is run by a proper bike instructor who is approved by the Driving Standards Agency.

Bikes

The trials bikes that we use are mostly Fantic trials bikes with engine sizes from 80cc to 250cc. There are a number of different sized machines that you can try out until you find one that suits you.

Safety

There are safety rules set out for the trials bikes section which include that you must wear the correct safety clothing: crash helmet, gloves, etc.

Programme

In the trials bikes section, after first being introduced to the rules, you will be taught the basic parts of the bike and how to operate the controls. Then, under supervision, you can learn to balance and ride the bike in a straight line and stop safely, all in first gear. This is followed by riding in ever decreasing circles until your control of the bike, poise and balance have improved.

Having turned you into a proper greasy biker (only joking), we introduce small obstacles and teach you how to negotiate them.

We progessively build up to larger and more scary obstacles for you to try.

Kickstart

On the final day there is a chance to enter the kick start competition, where you will enter a test of skill, balance, bravery and courage as you ride your machine through a winding course of obstacles with entry and exit gates. Points will be awarded for style too, so make sure you look cool.
