The Track Guestbook

Please feel free to post a word or two here, about The Track or this website.
(Please note: this guestbook is intended to be a friendly place for all and is moderated and unsuitable posts will be edited or removed)

If anyone from The Track's interested, there's a very tatty ex 'Goodwood rally school' MG Maestro 1600 (currently parked near RAF Digby, LINCS, LN4 3LH) which is available if anyone would like some cheap motorsport fun and is willing to put some hours in with the spanners.
It's been standing for yonks so needs a proper good clean up, overhaul etc. All parts required (except tyres) will be provided.
Ideal for Trackdays, Sprints, Autocross, practising rally-driving skills etc.
[N.B. The car would need a lot of new stuff to get an MSA Rally logbook e.g. seats, harnesses, plumbed in extinguisher, window film and possibly a homologated cage. To make it road-legal it would need headlights re-installing, lights, number plates and so on]

ROAD CAR PERFORMANCE STATS:
MG Maestro 1600 111 mph 9.6s 0-60 mph 29.5 mpg
Engine: ‘R’ Series 1.6 litre (approx 103 Bhp)
Produced approx March ’83 – Jun ‘84

SPEC OF THIS CAR
Formerly of Goodwood rally school
Professionally manufactured Roll Cage: Nick Stafford could not find any markings at all on the Maestro roll cage. There is nothing in the usual places, so have no idea what spec the cage is.
Not road legal (no VIN plates, Reg plates & headlight apertures blanked off)
Stripped out interior
Seam welded
Tyres: Forest rally (well used)
Bucket seats
Harnesses
Hand held fire extinguisher
Battery Cut Off handle
Hydraulic Handbrake
Co-drivers foot rest
Photos are available if you let me know your email but as a guide the car looks similar to the following rally MG Maestros:

Hey All,

I'm trying to get back in to the swing of things, empty the trailer, get stuff returned to its right place, get back to work, and go on a training course...

And, yes, I miss the Track too...!

Thanks for a great week -I'm just trying to get some of the stuff updated onto the website as quickly as I can, so watch this space.

Please send me anything you want to share such as photos or videos.

Thanks

John

And the dog ate the candyfloss at our reunion

Nah, my reunion involved half of Chris Egglingtons field - I liked Track so much I took a fair chunk of field home with me! Not too much under the Land Rover, mostly in the red Blitz - had to get a garden fork to free the battery, grass starting to grow and even a couple of worms!

Of course ours was the best reunion! Ice cream, sandy beach, punch and judy for the kids along with merry-go-round rides etc. Beat that.

I am the bombdigitybomb young Jezza, just you remeber that...

what do we get points for?

Hey everyone

Thanks for making camp as great as ever. Special thanks to all who cared for our children at camp this year. They love being there and that makes it easy for Tony and me. All the young people were grand as ever. Loved being part of a karting team! Thanks again. Love you all!
Rachel

Yeah, where are MY points?????

Sorry, no points are awarded for the guestbook. It's not my fault - it's just how it is!

Our meet up was by far the best btw....bet you didn't go to the beach....what's a reunion without the beach?!

Hello all, I totally agree - it was a great week. Especially as there must have been a few prayers muttered in my direction as I didn't have nearly as many naps as normal. Here's to next year! Oh, and if you want a Camp Leaders reunion, come to the review weekend!

Points are given, only for posting 'content' on the website, such as photos, pages, comments etc. None are awarded for guestbook
